Then and Now - The Bluebonnets

Out shooting clients in the bluebonnets this week, and felt compelled to reenact a bluebonnet session from days gone by.  I Dug up some images from a shoot from 2002.  Christian, then 2, is now my assistant at age 15.  We had a few minutes to kill before my clients arrived, so we did our best impromptu reenactment before and after the actual bluebonnet session.    We asked our dear friends Cathy and Kaitlyn to join us.  The 2002 shoot was the first photo session I ever had with Kaitlyn.  We have had at least one every year since.   Hard to believe the next one will be Senior Portraits.

Here is Christian with my first camera, bought from a pawn shop in 1989.
Film may be antiquated, but I'm hanging on to that camera!

Hard to believe he is taller than me now.

Not a big fan of the Bees in the Bluebonnets!

"No Mom!  I will not smile with Bees all around me!"  (Still not a big fan of getting down there at 15!)

Kaitlyn tried to cheer him up.

Hard to believe she couldn't find lemon lime overalls in her size for this shoot!

Not quite the same sitting on Mom's lap now, is it?

Special thanks to Cathy and Kaitlyn for being willing to be spontaneous and silly in the bluebonnets the other night.  It has been an honor to capture FOURTEEN years of great moments.  Countless laughs and fun.  Looking forward to many many more.

Frisco Children's Photographer

Beckett was back this week for an Easter Photography Session, and he brought his sweet cousins.
He was all smiles during this shoot.  What a happy boy!

We had a time trying to pull off this image.  Beckett wanted to play with the blocks, of course!  Every time we would get the name set up, he would crash it.  This was a lucky grab.

Beckett apparently likes to stick his tongue out at my house!  His mom, Teresa, is convinced that it is just my studio!  Could be.  I'm glad I caught some good images of him without his tongue sticking out, but I think that they are the funniest thing.  Cute, cute!

And a little Easter portrait.  Thank you Easter Bunny!

Introducing Beckett's cousins, Maddison and Connor.  I told their mom that these kids should be modeling for the Penny's catalog, and it turns out she works for J.C. Penny.  Funny stuff.  They are picture perfect kids.  Some of the most photogenic, cooperative, well mannered kids that have shuffled through my studio.
What a pleasure.

I love this one of the cousins.  Beckett chillin' with his arm on Maddison...priceless!

This is one of my favorite images that I have caught of a baby in a while.  It just seems to sum up the sweetness to me.  Thanks for sharing your kiddos with me on Easter!  Tons more to follow on the website soon.

Frisco Children's Photographer

I loved meeting princess Brookelynn during this Easter Portrait Session this week.  What a sweet girl.  She is very spirited, and we had a great time.  She even got to use my camera!  There are a lot more images where these came from; coming soon to my website.

Her sweet "Grammer" Felicia brought her to see me.  Grammer looks like she could be Mom!

I'm having a good time again just looking at these.  Brookelynn is a real treat.  She is super active, but totally willing to try new things, and have a good time.  Loved getting to meet her.  I'm always up for a good game of "peek a boo" or Ring Around the Rosie.  Fun stuff.

Frisco Portrait Photographer

Man...It's hard to find the time to blog this time a year.  Crazy, Crazy, Crazy!!  I couldn't resist throwing up these pics of Kaitlyn.  I have been shooting Kaitlyn since she was about 3.  If I was to go dig up our first shoot, I would have to look through my negatives.  Technology is not the only thing that has come a long way since then!  This photography session here in Frisco was to mark Kaitlyn's 14th birthday!  Hard to believe.  What a beautiful girl you are growing into Kait! :)

Dallas Family Photographer

Had the good fortune to work with the Kimbrell family this week.  Jenny is a dear friend of mine, and it was awesome to have the opportunity to hang out with her family.  She has two amazing boys, and her husband Kee made for a great assistant!  This was the first Family Photography Session that ever involved chickens for me!!  We did part of the photo session in their back yard in Dallas with their pet chickens.  My favorite part was watching the boys laugh at the chickens.  Most fun I've had on a shoot in a while!

Frisco Family Photographer

Well, I got crazy busy with the end of the school year, and haven't taken the time to blog lately, so I thought I would share a shoot from this week.  This Family Photography Session wins for my CRAZY shoot of the month!  My eleven year old is home from school now, and normally makes the greatest sitter for my toddler.  Not Monday!  The baby decided to throw a colossal fit.  Not necessarily the atmosphere I prefer in my home studio!  Then a fish in my 40 gallon tank facing my studio decided it would be a good time to play dead...little girls LOVE that!  Luckily everyone was a good sport, and I grabbed some cute stuff in spite of the insanity.  Really fun family to work with.

Love, Love, LOVE these girls!!

Everyone should be blessed with sisters!

Chloe.  The oldest.

Estelle.  The Middle.

Helen.  The baby.  This was Helen's own impromptu pose...adorable!

"Picture Perfect" extended family.

Mom/Kate.  She is a visual masterpiece all by herself!

It's a pleasure to be around Kate at all, but I especially enjoyed the chance to hang out with her with my camera.  :)

Kate and Mark.  Love these guys.  There are too many more fantastic shots where these came from.  It is hard to narrow them down.  I will have the rest of this Family Session up on jenXphotography.com in about a week, but I hope you enjoyed this sneak peak in the meantime.

DFW Family Photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting the Byxbee family at Turtle Creek this weekend for a Family Photography Session.  We got really lucky with the weather.  The wind died just in time for the photo shoot.  Here are a few of my favorites from the session.  Mr. Byxbee is surrounded by beautiful girls!

Thank you guys for sharing your Mother's Day weekend plans with me.  I will let you know as soon as I have the complete photo Session up on my website and ready to order.
